I’ve always loved stories- listening, reading, and watching. When I was 10 years old, a local newspaper published a poem I’d written about battling clouds. There is nothing like seeing your words in print. From that moment onwards, I was hooked.
After 16 years working in risk management and insurance at Colorado State University, I retired to follow my dreams. I’m excited to begin this new era, work on perfecting my writing craft, play lots of table tennis, and travel both internationally and domestically.
I co-authored the updated Risk Management and Insurance Manual for Libraries. (ALA Editions, 2021.) During the pandemic I wrote a 6 book magical realism series for advanced elementary, early middle grade readers called “The Adventures of Caitlin & Rio.” I was a 2023 mentee participant in the RMC SCBWI’s Michelle Begley Mentor Program, and 2023, I was nominated for the RMC SCBWI Golden Pen award.
I live in Colorado with my husband and two furry fur babies. I would rather write or play table tennis (my happy place) than do housework.
