I hate New Year’s resolutions, but that doesn’t stop me from making them. For this year, I’m not making any. Instead, I’d rather try for a shift in attitude. I want 2026 to be the year of living intentionally.
It sounds sort of “woo-woo”, doesn’t it? But bear with me. This is what I think I mean when I say I want to live intentionally:
Being present. Taking the time to stop and smell the proverbial roses. Slowing time down. Making time for quality connections and experiences, no matter how small. Take a walk. Write that story. Play a game. Take out the garbage. Make it count.
Being present and making it count means showing up for yourself, for the people in your life. Show up with gratitude. Let go of resentments.
It won’t be easy. Stuff happens. Life happens. But I want to try.
What does it mean for you? What are your hopes and dreams for the year ahead?
