It was so beautiful in Vail, I came home and we decided to head up to the mountains again for some exploring, and photography of the fall colors.
We drove west I-70 to Vail, and then took the Pinney Lake Road to see what we could see. I used both my little point 'n shoot – the Panasonic, and my Nikon D700. The photos on this post are with the Panasonic. My D700 photos I will be printing to hang up in my office.

We found this abandoned delapidated cabin by the roadside.
We finally reach Leadville with glorious light reflecting on the old buildings. I took a photo of the Gold Burro Cafe (we had a delicious breakfast there on 10/3.)
We didn't have a reservation so we just decided to try our luck at the historic Delaware Hotel. They managed to fit us in. I asked for a recommendation for dinner, and we went to the Tennesse Pass Cafe for a surprisingly delicious dinner. My enchilada had spinach and goat cheese. Kevin had a curry.
