Radio Controlled airplanes

Yesterday, hot and sunny Saturday Kevin and I were invited to the 14th Annual Rocky Mountain Big Bird Festival. Check out the link here. It was quite amazing. We arrived at about 11am. We were warned that it would be hot so to make sure we had sunglasses, sun screen, hats and plenty of water. We were glad that we had plenty of water because it really was hot. The air field is located about 9 miles east of I-25 and Fort Collins at the Mulberry and Ault off ramp. Our friends, Jeff and Judy arranged pit crew passes for us, so that we could get up close and personal with pilots and planes. Some of these model airplanes are quite big – some 41% the size of the real thing. The show started at 12 and lasted until 1:30. We had many different types of craft, and pilots putting them through their paces. Rolls, and dives, figure eights and vertical dives. Truly quite amazing.
